I live in Cheshire with my husband, Brian, and a mischievous cat called Chloe! When I was about nine years old I won a book in a writing competition and writing stories for fun became a hobby. I wanted to be a teacher or to have my own tea shop! I trained as a teacher and eventually went back to teach at the primary school I had attended.

It wasn’t until 2007, when I found myself with more spare time, that I wrote my first book, ‘Septimus Smythe and the Spectre Detectors’, the first story in the ‘Ghosts of Cockleshore Castle’ series. There are five Cockleshore stories in three books. One day, I had a message from a different publisher asking if I would like to write something for them; they wanted more ghost stories! So far, I have written two books about Watchman William. You can find out more about all of my books on the ‘BOOKS’ page.
I have retired from teaching now, but I still visit a lot of schools because I love to meet the children and talk to them about my books and writing. I’m usually asked lots of interesting questions! I also spend time chatting to people in book shops where I sign copies. (I like to visit tea shops too – as a customer!)
